Quick Tips For The Day:
- Today is perhaps the best day of the trek. It's a very relaxed day as we wake up in the morning to get a glimpse of the dawn light falling on Kanchenjunga.
- We there return from the viewpoint and freshen up, have our breakfast and get ready to start the day's trek.
- The route initially climbs up for about 2 kilometres to reach Sabargram, after which it flattens up and gently climbs up till Phalut.
- Sabargram offers a clear view of all the mountain ranges from Everest to Kanchenjunga. However, it is a very windy place.
- We spend a good time relaxing and enjoying the view after which we start our further walk towards Phalut - our destination for the day.
- It takes some 2 hours of easy walk to reach Phalut from there. On reaching Phalut, we check in to our rooms and get ready for hot simple cooked lunch. Post lunch, we are free to see around. Do note that Phalut is at the border point between Nepal, Sikkim and West Bengal. There is SSB camp who are responsible for maintaining the security of the border. In the evening we climb up a small hillock to go to the viewpoint and witness the glorious sunset over the giant mountains. It is the best place to witness the beauty of giant Himalayan peaks from such a close distance. We would be coming tomorrow morning to the same place to witness the sunrise over the giant looking elegant mountains. Do note that Phalut is the remotest point on this trek and expect it to be very basic. However, that's the charm of doing any Himalayan trek.
