Our Sankri Lodge is the first realization of that dream project. Today we have 2 homestays with a capacity of up to 30 trekkers with a good amount of individual space for each trekker, which actually is a rarity in this region.
The surrounding is such homely that here you feel like a local yourself.

Hiring Of Guide Porters Cooks and Mules In Sankri - Book Online And Be Sure
Hiring an experienced local trek guide is a very important and mandatory rule enforced by the authorities of Govind Vihar National Park. They only issue trekking permits when you are accompanied by a local guide registered with the forest department. Also, hiring a local guide is quite helpful and offers lots of advantages. When you hire a local person as your guide, it completely removes the risk of you losing your way at any point during the trek. A good local guide would also tell you many things about local culture, food and the surrounding mountains. A good guide can make a huge difference in your entire trek experience. He will tell you interesting local tales of the region and in no time, you'll make a long-lasting bond with your guide.
Pre-booking of a local guide is very essential, especially during the peak season from November till April. Good, experienced, trained and trustworthy guides are rare. They get booked most of the time by the local agency or other trek operators. It will be very demanding on them to not accept other confirmed booking from other groups who have either reached there or might have paid them money to stay confirmed. Once a guide gets a book, its not just for 4 days that he remains booked. He cannot accept any other booking 4 days prior to that in order to make himself available on your required date. Its human nature to look out for more money and better rewards, and this area is the only source of earning livelihood for them. Hence it is essential that you should PREBOOK YOUR GUIDE BEFORE YOU REACH SANKRI to be sure.
