How To Reach Yuksom

Nearest Airport: Bagdogra, West Bengal
Nearest Rail Head: New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal
Route Hubs: Siliguri - Jorethang - Legship

From Airport: If you are flying to Bagdogra from other cities, direct bus or shared jeeps aren't available from Bagdogra. You need to come to Siliguri and then hire a shared jeep. To reach Siliguri from Bagdogra, you need to come out of the airport to the highway ( 5 minutes walk ). Cross the road and wait for buses or other vehicles coming that side. It will take around 20 -30 minutes to reach Siliguri from Bagdogra. If you are lucky, you will normally hear drivers shouting Siliguri Siliguri just outside the airport exit. Take it to reach Siliguri and ask him to drop you near SNT bus stand. There is only 1 shared jeep directly available for Yuksom, and it leaves at around 11 AM from Sikkim Taxi Stand, near SNT bus stand. Ask anyone for SNT bus stand, and they will be able to direct you to it.

From Railway Station: If you are travelling by the railways, then New Jalpaiguri ( NJP ) should be your last point. From here too, direct vehicles are not available for Yuksom. You need to come to Siliguri. There is only 1 shared jeep directly available for Yuksom, and it leaves at around 11 AM from Sikkim Taxi Stand, near SNT bus stand. Ask anyone for SNT bus stand, and they will be able to direct you to it.

By Bus: No Option

Some More Help: Self hired vehicle is the best suggestion to reach Yuksom. Reserved vehicles can pick you from the airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Else, you may come to Siliguri and hire a can from there.

If you aren't in a group you may come by shared vehicles. Shared vehicles are available from Siliguiri, but if you want to reach Yuksom on the same day, you have to be in Siliguri before 12 PM.

If you do not get direct shared jeep, break your journey to Jorethang. From Jorethang you get jeeps till Yuksom but very few and irregular. Usually after 3 PM, you do not get any cabs to Yuksom from Jorethang. Go to Legship and the wait for a jeep going to Yuksom

  • Jorethang to Yuksom ( 3 hours, few vehicles.)
  • Jorethang to Legship ( 2 hours, available till evening)
  • Legship to Yuksom. ( 1 hour, might be lucky to get one in the evening )
